Consumer tracking

When you go to different sites on-line, businesses can track you. Your answers to questions on-line - for example when you buy something - can be sold to other businesses (but not your credit card number).

Look for a box on the website which says 'please tell me about other offers' and tick 'no' you do not want your name passed on. Or email them to say so.

Some surf-for-cash websites say you can win money by playing a free game. This is usually a way to get you to fill out a survey that will be sold to other businesses.
